About the Course


It is a Basic IoT design course that enables students to explore ,practice and make IoT enabled applications using RaPi3 and required sensors.

Course Objectives(What will you learn)

  • Understand What is IoT Domain & Its architecture
  • Design & Develop Simple IoT projects by their own
  • Understand MQTT protocol
  • Understand LoRa / Bluetooth / Bluetooth Low Energy communication technologies

Who should attend

2nd year or 3rd year B.Tech students

Out station students / candidates have to make their arrangements for accommodation and boarding

Day-01


  • Introduction to IoT
  • Hands-On with Open source hardware(Raspberry Pi)
  • Introduction to low power sensors & its applications
  • Hands-On : Sensor interface applications
  • DIY Session : Sensor Application Development
  • Evaluation of assignment(DIY) for 10M

Day-02


  • Hands-On : Data collection and visualization for real-time systems
  • Hands-On : Open source IoT cloud and end device
  • DIY Session : Real time data monitoring application development
  • Introduction to MQTT protocol
  • Hands-On : MQTT example application
  • DIY session : M2M communication with MQTT protocol Evaluation of assignment(DIY) for 10M

Day-03


  • Introduction to Bluetooth & Bluetooth Low energy
  • Hands-On : Bluetooth Application development
  • DIY session : Bluetooth based application development
  • Evaluation of assignment(DIY) for 10M

Day-04


  • Introduction to LoRa & LoRaWAN
  • Hands-On : LoRa based sensor application development
  • DIY : LoRa based smart city project prototype development
  • Course Summary session
  • Evaluation of assignment(DIY) for 10M

Day-05


  • Makeathon event
  • Evaluation of Projects and Final Assesment for 40M

Day-06(Evaluation and Assessment)


The students will form teams of 3 and will work out design and implementation of the same in a day to realise all that was learnt.
